Are We Frankenstein's Monster?

How do we resurrect our country?

What kind of world is it now? Where we fight amongst ourselves instead of the true threat. No matter the destruction or situation that arises in our country we don't stand as one instead we manage to make it a fight among the civil populations. Not only does fighting against one another give other countries a bad view of us, it also contaminates the mind of our younger generations to follow in the damaging aggressive succession of what we are going to leave behind.

Is a world of aggressive primal humans truly an advancement from the scientific ancestors we have come from? Not only are we becoming less community driven, but we have also started falling into the repetition of history where one nation's egotistical outlook has grown and the country starts to dissolve and whimsically becomes more reliable on anarchy.

Are we to blame or is it that we just follow what we see in our political setting? In ancient times the Greek believed in an actual democracy whereas now democracy has become a flagrant term that we use as an American government. That is incorrect, though we do follow that our people vote for our leaders we've started to veer on a path where our people are less politically involved because we as people are realizing we don't have as much control over our country as we once believed. This isn't meant to change how our society is because we are still the most feared country, but it is meant to show you the fear we have of our own country.

While we sit and argue over taking a peaceful protest in sports, the people who are plotting against us get more time to set up a plan.

As our leaders sit and wonder what to do about these societal blockades, It leaves us the backdrop communities to ponder whether or not we are in danger. We as people shouldn't fear our country we should embrace it and improve it, just because we are failing now doesn't mean we cant bring our country back "like my college grades."

Our country wasn't founded and fought for just so that every day in our country is like another episode of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" this isn't meant to be a joke yet look at our countries reputation who's laughing now?

Whether or not you follow politics I know you've seen the power of corruption in your community, but just a little bit of corruption is like corrosion on the frame of our country and just like Americans we can bring it back and build it on the blood, sweat, and tears shed in recent years. I may not be a politician but it sure feels like the government always has a sway in our decisions and views, maybe its time to change what we are and not who we want to become. America is and always will be great, but even the greats make mistakes.

Even Alexander the Great had to fail to be human. So we may not all be conquerer's but this is one conquest we all are on together and it takes us all to be human.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
