Unless you've been living under a rock, I'm pretty sure that you've heard of a Kylie Lip Kit, the ever-so-popular liquid lipsticks and lip glosses that Kylie Jenner recently released on her new cosmetics site kyliecosmetics. The lip kits and glosses have been almost always sold out in a matter of minutes upon restocking, which made them very hard to get. The lip kits are priced at $29, the glosses are $15, and the metals are $18.
Now, when I originally heard that Kylie Jenner was releasing these products, I immediately was not impressed. I rolled my eyes at the notion that Kylie was putting out a line of cosmetics for your lips, since that's one of the things that she has going for her. I was sick of hearing about her lips all of the time, and I know that I wasn't the only one.
But, after watching review videos and hearing about how amazing they were, I decided to give in and used my last paycheck to order some lip kits.
The first test? Swatching.
After smearing the lipsticks onto my wrist, I ran them under water and even tried smudging them a little. They wouldn't budge. Not even one bit. However, they do come off easily with makeup remover, which is reassuring.
The second test? Work.
I applied Dolce K (The shade that is now my number one favorite) before my seven-hour shift at work, bringing the lip kit along with me just in case I needed to re-apply. I was complemented on my lips by one of my co-workers, telling me that the color reminded her of Kylie Jenner, to which I began to laugh at since she essentially hit the nail on the head. By my lunch break, my lips still looked as though I'd applied a fresh coat of the product. It didn't even budge after sipping on straws and taking a bite of my sandwich. By the end of my shift, my lips were still on point. A major success in my book, since my lip color usually almost always fades.
The colors go on incredibly smooth, and dry after about 30 seconds after they're applied. Usually, I've noticed that matte formulas are overly drying and extremely heavy on your lips, especially the matte M.A.C lipsticks that I own. But these lip kits are so much better, and while they cost a little more, you're getting more out of your dollar.
So, my final conclusion? Yes, these lip kits are so worth your attention and money, and every beauty-based area of your brain will be wired to these kits.
So many other people have been raving about these lip kits, you can watch these videos all over the internet!
All and all, best paycheck ever spent.
