With our generation, many of us have our smartphones attached to us constantly. Sometimes, it does go to far, when people always have their faces in their phones. But other times, they can be very useful and serve very practical purposes. Here is a list I comprised of six essential apps you should consider getting because they will help you out in your day-to-day tasks.
1. Banking
With the addition of apps to major banking corporations, it has become easier than ever to manage your accounts. With an app like Bank of America or CAPCOM, you can easily view your balances, see previous deposits and withdrawals, make money transfers between accounts, and even deposit checks.
2. News
Having a news app helps you keep up to date with everything going on, whether it be on a local, national, or global level. Personally, I prefer the CNN app, which is up to date with all ongoing events, and even sends you notifications when there is breaking news or something big going on. Many local news stations have also created apps, usually based on their own websites.
3. Games
What's a smartphone without any games? You need to have a few games so when you're bored or need something to pass the time, you can turn to them. Right now, some of my favorites are Rolling Sky, Piano Tiles 2, and The Pit. Whether it be a brand new game or an old classic, you almost always find yourself trying to beat your high score.
4. Passwords
This is really simple and extremely useful for people to tend to forget things. Basically, there are apps which store all your usernames and passwords, securely, and is there when you forget your login info for an account you use. I use LastPass because of the simple user-interface and its password protected itself, meaning anyone can't have access to your personal details.
5. Social Media
In the world we live in, almost all young adults have at least one, if not many, forms of social communication on their phones. These apps include Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, and even YouTube. It's a way to stay in touch with family and friends, as well as express yourself across multiple platforms.
6. File Sharing
Sometimes, we need to exchange important documents and files with co-workers or friends. Apps like Dropbox and Google Docs make that easy. Some, like Google Docs, even allow you to work with others at the same time on the same document.
