In 2016, we are using more technology than ever before. Everywhere you look, someone is tap-tap-tapping away on their smartphone or flipping open their personal computers. With all of this technology comes a whole new set of resources that can improve our lives and even our walks with God. Personally, there are 2 apps that I have found almost essential to my daily time with God.
1. The Fresh Life Church App
Fresh Life is a cluster of contemporary churches in Montana founded by Pastor Levi Lusko and his wife, Jenny.
To give some background about myself, I don't particularly enjoy contemporary churches. I was raised as a KJV-reading, traditional-hymn-singing Southern Baptist. I don't have anything against contemporary churches, it just isn't my preferred type of worship.
That being said, the Fresh Life app has had an enormous impact on mine, my husband's, and several of our friends' lives. The app is basically an archive of sermons and sermon series' taught by pastor Levi. Each one has an intriguing title and an amazing message. Pastor Levi is one of the most gifted preachers I have ever heard. He takes scripture and makes it totally applicable to every aspect of my life in 2016.
Each sermon is saved as a video and a podcast so that the listener can choose. Listening to sermon series' while I get ready in the morning has become a routine part of my life. I have been so blessed by series' like "Through The Eyes Of a Lion", "Save The Date", and "Velvet Steel".
The app is completely free for Android and Apple users. I can not urge you enough to download this app and start letting Pastor Levi speak truth into your life.
2. The Bible App by YouVersion
It sounds too simple, I know. I, just like many other young Christians have the Bible app installed on my phone but rarely ever use it unless I need a quick reference to scripture. However, lately I have really started to discover the amazing resources provided by the Bible app.
Under the "plans" tab, there are thousands of daily devotions and Bible reading schedules that pertain to different areas in the faith. Each plan is made up of a short to medium length devotion and two to five corresponding verses.
The app even allows you to set a time each day for it to remind you to spend time in your devotion. Plus, it will read the Bible to you!
The YouVersion Bible App can be downloaded for free on the Play store as well as the App store.
