These days it seems that there is an app for everything from making music to mixing drinks and any problem can be solved with a simple 5 word response: there’s and app for that.
With new apps for work and play popping up almost everyday it is hard to keep tabs on everything that is out there. So I figured I would share some of my favorite apps with you.Â
1. Â Â Afterlight
When selfies are a part of everyday life, Afterlight is an absolute must! With the coolest boarders, effect and anything else you could want to make sure you selfie is perfect or your latest instagram picture makes the popular page.
 2.    WhatsAppÂ
Whether you are an international student, studying abroad or off an international adventure this app is required for survival. It is basically a messaging app that works on all smart phones and across boarders through your phones data or a wifi connection. You can also send voice messages, create groups and it automatically imports all your phone contacts who have the app. This app is especially helpful when you absolutely need to tell your bestie about your latest adventure from the other side of the globe.Â
 3.    MyFitnessPalÂ
An absolute essential in avoiding the dreaded freshman 15. This app tracks everything from the food you eat to your workouts. Bonus: it is totally customizable for your height, weight, activity level as well as if you want to maintain, gain or loose weight in a healthy and gradual manner.Â
 4.    Yoga StretchÂ
I am an exceptionally ungraceful person but, if Jennifer Aniston has taught us anything it is that yoga is an essential part of the aging gracefully equation. Yoga Stretch is like my very own yogi in the privacy of my bedroom, where I can struggle free of judgment.Â
 5.    All TrailsÂ
Whether you are in a new town or just feel like a change, All Trails can show you where the best hikes in your area. It is pretty much the yelp of hiking trails complete with photos, directions, reviews and ratings. Â
6.    Venmo
Do you really want to be that table splitting the check 6 ways? (the answer is no you don’t). Venmo lets you instantly transfer money from you account to any of your Facebook friends whether its $10 for lunch or $600 for rent Venmo is a hassel free. Bonus: it allows you to bill your friends too, so you don’t have to be annoyingly reminding them of the money they owe you.  Â
7.    Sleep Cycle alarm clock
Adam Levine is just about to propose when your alarm goes off. Your dream is ruined and you are more exhausted than before you went to bed. Well it is time to say goodbye to interrupted dreams and sleepy mornings. This apps tracks your sleep cycles and ensures your alarm goes off at the most beneficial time so you can enjoy your dreams and get all the beauty sleep you need. Â Â
8.    NYT NowÂ
Between classes, work and your social life being an informed global citizen can be hard. This app ensures that you get the gist of what’s happening in the most abbreviated form. Â
Hopefully these apps help solve some of your problems and make life a little easier. Just remember that sometimes its okay to unplug, even of there isn’t an app for that.Â
