Here are five anti-vday songs to listen to if you're single on this "holiday."

1. "Soulmate" by Lizzo

Lizzo is the queen of single anthems, but this one is just perfect, especially on Valentine's Day. It is all about loving yourself and finding all the ways to love yourself first. She is all about self-love and this song just genuinely makes me happy when I'm listening to it.

2. "Never Been In Love" by Will Jay

The idea that you need a significant other in order to be happy is so lame. This song really dives into how amazing it can be to be single and how precious alone time is. You really grow and find yourself when you aren't maintaining a relationship. So if you're single on Valentine's day, don't be sad! listen to this song and be your own Valentine.

3. "I Forgot That You Existed" by Taylor Swift

Sassy Taylor returns with this song. I love how this isn't necessarily a breakup song to a significant other, but it's a breakup song for anyone in your past that did you wrong. It isn't a hate song either, it's more of a freeing song for when you finally don't care about this person.

4. "Karma" by MOD SUN

This song gives me very "Gives You Hell" vibes. It's a good song to scream to get your anger out. Valentines Day can bring back some harsh memories so this is the song for you to go to when you're remembering all the shitty people.

5. "Love Song" by Sara Bareilles

This song is a bop within itself, but it hit harder when you're single on Valentine's Day. It is such an upbeat and catchy song so it makes it so hard to not get up and dance to it while screaming the lyrics. it is just a really light-hearted song that makes ya feel good

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
