#AnotherTerm: 5 Things I Love and Will Miss About The Obama Presidency

Time is almost up. The President's term that is. It was a sight seeing him sworn in and it's going to be a sightseeing him leave. The United States has to admit that they have not seen such a first family like the Obama's that has made us proud in their respect to this country and it's people. I'm going to miss this family and this man. With that being said, here are five things I love and will miss about President Barack Obama.

1. His Random Moments of Bursting Out in SONG…

The President has serious singing skills, in fact, the video above shows him singing a little Al Green while speaking at a press conference. He made the world smile with his knowledge of R&b soul. Al Green should be proud.

2. His Recognition of Black History Month

The President approaches race issues with ease. In the above video, Tracey Braxton, sister of singer Toni Braxton, was recorded screaming "Hey, Michelle!" and the Mr. President humorously with "You know it's Black History Month when you hear, "Hey, Michelle". " I love how he tries to seep Black culture/trend into the White House. For instance, his annual Women of Soul Concert that features Black musicians like Jill Scott, Patti Labelle, Queen Latifah and more.

3. His Wife...The First Lady Should Run For President. #FLOTUS4PREZ

First Lady Michelle should be president. She has by far been the most active first lady that I have ever got a chance to see in office. The most salient work she's done is her health initiatives that sparked great debate throughout the education system across America. She has even put herself in music with starting dance events that promote body movement and participating in "parody" rap music videos. The first lady does it all.

4. His Honesty

(He is the REALEST)

The President has never been known to mince his words. In fact, he is a really outspoken and confident man. In the video above, he responds to a heckler interrupting his press conference. His response to the heckler is "You're in my house." Respect this man he will not let you walk over him.

5. His Compassion (I Hate To See Him Cry....But I Am Proud to See Him as Human)

The President has had an unfortunate disadvantage of serving two terms that have been witness to many tragedies including school shootings, marathon bombings, and movie theater massacres. With that being said, the president has never not shed a tear for those that have fallen victim to these tragedies. In fact, the above video shows him crying for those victims who were injured and/or killed during the Connecticut school shootings. He reflected on being a parent and imagining what the victims' parents had to go through with the tragic loss of their child(ren).

***Bonus: His Humor****

He is funny as hell. In fact, the president has jokes for days and his "reading" skills are phenomenal. In the video above, with the help of a celebrity comedian, the President addresses his grievances in a hilarious stunt. The president might need therapy after this.

We look forward to seeing what you will do after your term has come to an end. I don't believe that it could ever be a President as wonderful and charismatic as you. Goodbye, Mr. President.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
