Ladies and gentlemen, the time has come. Summer is so close we can almost smell the barbecues and pool chlorine, but before we can break out our swimsuits and sunscreen, we must get through the next five merciless days: Finals Week.
For some, this dreaded week is already in full swing, others are nearly done with their tests, and others still have yet to begin. Regardless of how close we are to the end, there are a few things I think we all have in common when it comes to this week. I thought the best way to communicate these things would be with GIFs of the light of my life, Anna Kendrick.
For one, I think there are a lot of things we'd rather do than take our final exams:
We know we'll soon be so deep in the studying-and-testing zone that we'll forget how it feels to be free:
Coffee is really only one thing that keeps us going because sleep is kind of impossible right now:
Should we ever try to squeeze a nap in, waking up looks a lot like this:
(Minus the glamour and the lighting and the fabulous, of course)
You'll encounter some questions over things you have definitely never heard of, which will have you like:
And eventually, you'll have to admit to yourself that you have no effing idea:
Which is kind of upsetting because this test is worth 40% of your grade but it's fine, everything's fine:
It's possible you'll run late at some point, and you'll end up making it to the door just as the instructor was about to close it:
If you know anyone who's taking the same exam after you, be prepared to answer some questions:
"How many short answer questions are there?" "Was it harder than you expected?" "Is there an essay portion?" "Is it cumulative????"
Oof. Let's all just pray right now that you don't get that last minute email from your professor saying, "Oh by the way this exam is over last semester, too. -Sent from my iPhone":
Because that'll leave you with some short-answer questions you have no idea how to answer:
So you'll BS your way through it and it'll be FINE:
Of course, there will be some questions you KNOW you got right:
And you may finish early and then walk out like this:
When your grades come back, you may be surprised at how well you did:
Take a moment to celebrate:
So even though finals are rough, and we'd all rather be right about here,
And even though our coping mechanisms aren't always the most "healthy,"
And even though we sometimes debate whether or not getting an education and having a successful life is worth all this stress,
Eventually, you'll be done! You will make it through finals. You will be okay. And you'll feel like this:
(for three seconds. Then you'll feel like):
So, my friends, have the best Finals Week you possibly can. I believe in you!!! See you this summer.
