Animals. Some of us might have them as pets; others might just enjoy them in nature. However, animals deserve an award, in which humanity has not really done over the years. Today, I am going to explain why cosmetic animal testing should be illegal. Nearly 100 million animals each year die because of animal testing in laboratories. That lipstick you use for a little color or the shampoo you use to wash your hair has possibly killed an innocent animal who has no right to be treated by cruel humans for our own cosmetic appearances.
Cosmetic testing on animals has taken over the world, but why? Usually, when an animal is being tested for cosmetic purposes, The animals being tested are rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, mice, or rats. The laboratories will usually shave the fur off the animal and spread the cosmetic product on the animals bare skin. Some laboratories even put products in animals’ eyes. Fact: animal testing is not required! Companies still allow animal testing even if it is not required for their cosmetic purposes. Most companies demand “new ingredients” so they continue to test on animals. I believe that this should be stopped immediately. Because testing is not required and laboratories still allow this act for companies shows us how inhumane these businesses really make their money. This should be banned for all companies, especially since it is your money going to this cruelly made product. We can stop this, the issue is important.
How we can stop animal testing is by simply doing the following. Buying cruelty-free or vegan products. When you pick up anything cosmetic, usually on the back side of the product it will say cruelty-free or vegan. This means no animal was in harm in the making of this. We can also seize this issue by making animal testing completely illegal. This problem, in general, should have never been around. As humans, we should put these animals back into their natural habitats and stop messing with this situation. If a human does not want to suffer this pain, then why should an innocent animal have to.
In all, these pinpoints should help one to live a cruelty-free life. It is easy to start with the cosmetic things in our lives first. For me, being cruelty-free has made a big change in my life and I love it. I hope that everyone will eventually fall into the same footsteps as I, and live a cruelty-free life. Start with the easy stuff then work your way to the more difficult things like giving up meat. Help these animals and use your voice for them. They do not deserve this suffer they are experiencing. Animals deserve an award for all of the inhumane things we have caused them to experience. Say no to animal testing and say yes to a cruelty-free life!
