Animals Have Best Friends, Too

Animal best friends are so much better than human best friends.

Animals Have Best Friends, Too

As any person with a heart would know, it's very obvious that animals have emotions. These emotions are often brought out through tail wags, licks, rubs, and many other endearing actions. I am a huge fan of animal Twitters, Facebooks, and Instagrams, and I collectively follow about a hundred different animal accounts. I will admit that I have no self control when it comes to animals, so instead of paying attention in class (only on rare occasions) I often find myself looking at pictures of cute animals. If I have a paper due the next day, you better believe that you can find me looking at animals instead of writing or editing the paper. In fact if I have any free time, chances are that about fifty percent of the time I'm looking at pictures of animals. In fact my favorite thing to do is to google "animal friends," because there is nothing like a good pair of animal friends. So, here are my favorite pairs of animal friends brought to you by Google.

1. An elephant and a dog make the perfect pair.

What is there not to like about this perfect pair? It's easy to think that there is nothing as cute as an individual dog or individual elephant, but put them together and you have surpassed any normal level of cuteness. What makes this pair even more special is that the elephant gives this lucky pooch piggy back rides on his head.

2. This is the coolest gang in the world.

If you thought that you and your friends were cool, you should think again. This gang of birds and a dog will leave you feeling like you never even knew the definition of cool. I love the content look on the dog's face and I love the close interaction between these birds. I wish I could join this gang.

3. These two pals are all about that peace and love.

These animals know what's up. They seem to be getting cozy and sharing their affection for one another through rubs. If given the choice, I would vote for these two pals to be president and vice president. Their peace and love would infect us all and they would be remembered as the greatest pair in American political history.

4. A smile a day makes you happier.

These two pals never stop smiling. In fact, they never frown when they are together. They're best friends who enjoy spending all their time together. To be honest, they probably have a bunch of inside jokes and memories that they smile when they think about.

5. A dog and a cat make the perfect pair.

Everyone always talks about how dogs and cats do not get along, but this pair looks like they're best friends. In fact, they are practically siblings. There is nothing that can come between this cute and cuddly pair. I like to think that they will be together forever and forever.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
