This is a letter for you and for myself. It’s a reminder that you matter, regardless of what others think. You are beautiful, kind, and people do care about you. Yes, you do get testy at points, and yes, you feel like the world is all against you, but it’s not. The people that surround you are so amazing, and they love you for you. I know, some days it’s hard to think about life, but look at how far you’ve come. You are reading this, you are alive, and you have so much more life left to live. So, don’t live in the past, because you can’t change it. Think about now. Because now is where you belong.
You don’t need someone to make you feel important. People will come and go, but you need to remember that the MOST important people are going to be around through thick and thin, because they see the good and bad in you, and they know that you have been hurt, they know that you struggle some days, but they still love you. They love you because you are as much a beacon in the dark for them as they are for you. You’re friends and family love you, no matter what crazy things you do. They accept that you are different, and sometimes are a little insane, but they are in LOVE with that craziness you bring into their lives. So, don’t bring yourself down because your head says that you annoy them. Be you, and if someone doesn’t like the real you, don’t let yourself get caught up in it.
This point in your life should be a roller coaster of events, no matter where you are at, keep moving forward, even if you can’t see the track ahead of you. Life is going to throw loops and curves at you, but they are the most fun after you get past the fear of falling off the track. But you shouldn’t give up in the middle of the ride. The end of the ride may be disheartening, but don’t let it stop you from enjoying where you are now.
If you are starting to get stressed, take a rest, because out of all the important things going on around you, YOU are the most important thing to care for. If life starts getting to be too much, go somewhere, listen to music, draw, relax, enjoy alone time, and don’t think about anything other than you. It’s okay to be “selfish” sometimes. Love yourself above anyone else, because in the end, in your life, you are the only one who will always be there.
I talked about a lot of things here, but they all have one thing in common.
And that is that you matter, and you should love yourself, no matter what.
