Dear Semester,
Break has come and gone, which means a new you; it means hitting the books again. I’m taking quite a few classes that have to do entirely with my career path, which – while these classes already seem interesting and I’m extremely excited to take them – is kind of stressful.
What if I don’t do well in these classes? What if I find out I don’t enjoy this career path in the process of taking these classes? While I hope these possibilities don’t become a reality, it could happen. So, semester, I am asking you, please don’t take me on a roller coaster ride; be kind to me. At the same time, though, I am going to tell you: I will conquer you.
I may have had some ups and downs in the past. I may have once been scared about certain classes or even nervous for my grades to come out. I may have thought about changing my career path - again; but today, I am more determined than ever to become successful.
I am planning every day, this time. I will not miss a thing, and I will be successful. I promise you, it will happen. I will eat breakfast. I will be my professor's favorite student because I'll be the most involved, the most educated, and the most determined - in every class. I will make the Dean's List, maybe even the President's List, and I will become successful with not only school, but my professional and social life as well.
It may not seem possible, but with prioritizing, scheduling, and a lot of determination, it will happen. So, semester, I will take you one day at a time, and I will try not to stress out about all of the things you will throw at me. But I am telling you, I will be successful. I will conquer you, and there’s nothing you can do about it.
Sincerely,
Your New Favorite Student
