Too many countless memories of going to friends' homes and watching their dad's pick them up and swing them around. Too many countless nights full of tears and broken hearts from boys who didn't deserve you, and a father who wasn't there to tell you that you deserved better. Too many countless moments of getting whispers behind your back that sounded all too similar to, "Oh it's because she's got daddy issues." Too many countless times of someone else trying to fill in Dad's place. All of those endless thoughts, "Will he ever come find me? Does he ever think about me? Why hasn't he called? Am I really that worthless?"
No.
You've reached that point in your life where the daddy jokes aren't funny anymore, actually.. they were never funny. You are realizing you are never going to be Daddy's princess. Daddy isn't going to walk you down the aisle. And Daddy probably isn't thinking about you nor does he intend to. Ouch. Reality just hit, didn't it?
Good news though, you are well on your way to becoming a strong and successful woman. To your face people say they believe in you, but behind your back they doubt you because you were not brought up with a father. This issue has taught you how to be independent, it has taught you to guard your heart from evil. You now know that you are fully capable of recovering from any pain, because you have been dealing with the harshest pain known to man for your entire life. You wanted nothing more than to be Daddy's little girl, but instead you've faced a lifetime of not knowing what it's like to be loved correctly by a man because no one ever taught you.
It is a constant battle, but know that you are truly something special. You wake up and fight this fight everyday, not by choice. No one can decide what you do with your life except for you. Don't let the "daddy issues" whispers define who you are. Do not allow yourself to be the victim of society. Do not allow yourself to be another statistic. The best revenge on those that doubted you, will be your success. Strive high, shoot for the stars, and never give up. You are worth so much more than you could ever imagine and you deserve so much more than what you've been getting. No one will ever understand our pain, the only way to justify anything is to be better. Always be better. Then one day, when your father reads about you, he will realize how much he has missed out on. He missed out on meeting the most amazing and strong woman a person could ever meet. Then on another day, you will meet the man or woman who fills that empty space that you've been living with. Then on another day, if children are in your future, you will be their entire world, their rock, their backbone and more. Don't let your earthly father be the reason you fail, let him be the reason you succeed.
