Dear Harry, Niall, Louis, and Liam,
First and foremost, how are you? I haven't heard from you in a while, but you've been on my mind a lot recently. I hope all is well as you take this time to relax and spend time with friends and family.
I am writing you this letter because even though we have never met, I have known you for many years. I have been unapologetically attending your concerts since 2012 and have been a fan for a very long time. I have purchased every album, heard every song, and have sung along over and Over Again.
When Zayn decided to leave the band, I knew that this was just the beginning and that you all would eventually follow him Through The Dark. You could tell that it was different without him, but you guys prevailed. I found hope in the fact that you stayed Strong and went on to create music and perform without your beloved fifth member.
Then you decided that it was time to take a break and focus on solo projects and spend time with loved ones. When this decision was announced, I knew that this was a step closer towards the end of Something Great.
Upon deciding to take this break, you promised that you would be back. You promised that this break was just a break. But like all breaks in relationships, it is usually just delaying the inevitable. It has been a few months shy of a year since you came to this decision, and now I think it is time for an explanation.
Although I do not believe that you lied when you promised you would return, I do believe that you left out the part where you would all return solo. The longer this break goes on, the more apparent it is that One Direction is moving in different directions. Liam has recently signed to a new label, Harry is starting his acting career, Louis is trying his hand at producing, and Niall is off trying to get a hole in one (I'm not entirely sure if that counts).
You may be worried about letting the fans down, but at The End of The Day, you have to do what's best for the band. If your heart isn't in it, and you feel the band has run its course, It is time to Stand Up and let everyone know.
Although I am sad about your career as a band coming to an end, it is just the beginning of the rest of your lives. If and when you decide to split, I know that it will not be the last time hearing from you. I think that the true fans will not only appreciate the honesty but follow you through your future endeavors (I know I will).
So until then, thank you for reminding me what makes me beautiful, for all of the Moments we've had together, and I Wish you all of the success in the world - you deserve it.
