An Open Letter To The Person I Used To Call 'Best Friend'

Dear "Best Friend",

People always tell you that friends come and go but I never believed it when it came to me and you. We spent countless hours talking, taking photos, crying and watching Netflix. You always knew how to cheer me up when I was feeling down and I always knew how to cheer you up when you were feeling down. I would drive to your house at a ridiculous hour just to bring you your favorite drink or snack when you were crying just to make you smile. You know all my secrets and I know all of yours. We would constantly talk about moving out together as soon as we turned eighteen. We had big city thoughts and even bigger dreams. We did anything and everything together. My mother loved you and your mother loved me. We were inseparable. But I guess as people grow up they also grow further apart. I wanted so bad to hate you for leaving me and moving on to different friends but I just can't. You really were my other half and I will always hope that you will stumble back into my life. I would forgive you in a heart beat. My family still asks about you and I pretend like were still on good terms so if you come back into my life they will love you just the same. Nobody really understand how much it hurts to not have you to run to when I am sobbing and feel as though the world is caving in on me. If we never cross paths again I hope that you find happiness and a friendship even better then what our friendship was. I hope you tell your children and grand children about all the crazy adventures we went on together. I know I will tell my children and grand children all about you and I. I will use us as an example of what friendship should look like. And if you ever decide you need someone or that you miss our friendship I will be here.I will always be here for you no matter what.I have said that since day one and I will always stick by that. Thank you for teaching me all the things you have and thank you for being there for me at a time in my life where I really needed someone. I don't hate you for the things that happened. I hope you accomplish your life long goals and dreams.
