I don’t know what it is about the weeks before Christmas break, but can y’all testify to the fact that school basically sucks right now? Because honestly, same. There are projects and presentations and papers all due every five minutes, and I know I’m not the only one who feels the pressure. There aren’t enough hours in the day anymore, and the time for socializing is seemingly nonexistent. However, I have a truth for all you stressed out ladies and gents: Cut yourself some slack. I know, I know, *~I know~* that college is extremely important. I am fully aware of the fact that good grades are necessary and valued, but y’all need to know that it is OK to breathe. What good is going to school if you’re going to constantly feel like you’re drowning in homework? That is not good for your body, your mind, or your soul. To feel that constant anxiety day in and day out is not healthy, and in this stressful time of the semester, I would encourage you to take some time to prioritize your time and invest in yourself in these next few weeks. Can’t think of a way? I’ll show ya’ some practical examples of how to chill in the coming weeks.
1. Take a frikin' nap.
I’m not talking about a six or seven-hour nap, because, to be honest, I’ve been there. I mean like something that’s an hour or less to just kind of shut your brain off. Make sure you give yourself a list of goals to accomplish before and after, to maximize your time. Even if you snooze, doesn’t mean you’ll lose. #preach
2. Go to a basketball game.
Alright, there are very few things that are getting us out of our seats these days. One of those things is and forever will be God’s second greatest gift to us: *~*cOlLeGe BaSkEtBalL*~* So, grab your roommates or your friends, and go scream your head off and root on your school, because nothing motivates me to slay my next math test like shouting at the top of my lungs after #12 slam dunks it. Let’s gooooooooooooooooooooooo.
3. Make hot cocoa from scratch.
This one speaks for itself. Here's the only chart you'll EVER need to give you the perf hot chocolate. You're welcome. :) :) :)
4. Pleasure read.

5. Take a bath.
Step 1: Get your butt to Bath and Body Works.
Step 2: Purchase yourself a bubble bath of some sorts. Can’t afford the big one? Get a tiny one!!
Step 3: Turn the water to the hottest setting, add bubble bath.
Step 4: Ahhhhhh…
6. Go for a walk.
Take a moment to appreciate the sunset by walking around your neighborhood, or if you live in the dorms, walk around campus. Take a moment to reflect on your surroundings. Look at all you have to be thankful for!
7. Call your mom.
Or your dad. Or your grandparent. Anyone. There isn’t anything quite like talking to someone who has been in their shoes. My mom, who is filled with wisdom and is totes my bff, always puts things into perspective for me. There’s so much that feels like the end of the world for us today, but once we push past it, we’ll look back and see just how small it is in comparison to all we’ve been blessed with. Yeah, moms are the real MVP.
8. Go to a pet store.
Because what about petting adorable puppies and kitties doesn’t appeal to you? If there isn't one around, here:

Guys, God has not given us a spirit of fear! He’s given us a sound mind, love, and self-control to conquer all of our obstacles. So, quit fearing what we can’t control or the unknown. Of course, put in hard work and try your absolute best in all that you do, but make sure you take some time to get reacquainted with yourself! Love yourself! And when you're done chillin', make sure you grind hard and get those good grades!
