An Open Letter To A Senior In High School

High school may seem like the worst thing right now, you just can't wait to graduate because you think your life will be so much better once your graduate, but that's not always the case and sometimes you take high school for granted, and then some times you miss it.

Dear Senior in High School,

I have been where you are now, and as you come to the last semester of high school ever, you may feel like you can't wait for it to end and that you'll be on to bigger and better things once you "leave this place". Which in some cases is completely true, most of you will go on to college or a job and you will soon be apart of the "real" world.

What you might not realize right now is that you are going to miss it. You're going to miss the little things about high school. You may think you can't wait to graduate but do not take your last moments of high school lightly because looking back some of the best memories from growing up happened in high school. The little things about high school are the things you'll miss the most.

If you play sports, you're going to miss playing them and being a part of a team and sharing victories with your teammates. You are going to miss that family you created throughout high school whether it is sports team or school clubs. These things may seem like little things now and you may believe that it won't mean anything to you when you graduate, but it will mean something to you. Don't take for granted the little things you enjoy in high school because soon enough when you don't have them anymore they become the big things that you miss the most.

Graduating high school is definitely exciting and you're going to undergo big and exciting changes now and you're going to grow as a person but looking back after you graduate you miss the little things in high school. High school is where you see all your friends everyday, and when you graduate you don't always get to see your friends as much because you're all busy living your lives and going different paths. Take advantage of the time you have with your friends in high school.

Take advantage of going out with your friends and going to sports games, and school events. Enjoy the pep rally's and Friday night football games because looking back, those little things become the biggest things you miss. As your journey of high school comes to an end, make sure you make the most of your adventure there and with the people you care about in high school and make the most of the time you have left in high school before you move on to the next journey of your life.

Best regards.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
