Dear Scott Cawthon,

As you might know, many people love your famous game series "Five Nights At Freddy's." It is the independent game that became an overnight sensation just over two years ago (it's only been two years!) and took the gaming world by storm.

Now after four games, there's even more story to be told with the fifth installment titled "Sister Location." The games, played by the YouTube gaming greats like Markiplier and Pewdiepie allowed us to experience them by watching, being pulled in by the unexplainable force that is Freddy Fazzbear's Pizza. As you know, this is no ordinary pizza shop. There are possessed animatronics roaming the halls ready to attack an innocent security guard (or in the fourth game, an innocent child) via unexpected (and jolting) jump scares. That may just be what stole my heart, though.

I am not usually a fan of anything that scares me, but I fell in love almost instantly with this game series. Between the jump scares and the deceiving appeal of the "cute" animatronics combined with the overarching question of "what the hell is going on?" I was hooked on these unique (yet terrifying) games. Meeting Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, Golden Freddy, Foxy, and the many other animatronics that came after the original game (including their nightmare versions too) changed my outlook on not only scary games but gaming in general. I never imagined I would get into video games as my interest in them was never high at all. Even as a child the only games I was interested in were Mario party 8 on the Wii and The Simpsons Road Rage game on the PlayStation 2.

The FNAF games brought out a new interest I would never have thought was there to evoke. I would anticipate every game's release like it was a new blockbuster (which it will be! Cannot wait for the FNAF movie). Since FNAF one - four (and now five) I have had interest in other games, watching Markiplier often (whom i saw play FNAF in the first place, so thanks, Mark!) and watching my boyfriend and roommate play games on their XBox consoles. Now I appreciate games more and love to watch them be played. My boyfriend, a hardcore gamer, has introduced me to other creepy and fun games (like Inside and Bioshock) among others that I may not have been so open to trying if it not for your gaming series. When I love something, I love it fully and immensely. That is how I feel towards the games.

I am scared, puzzled, intrigued, and completely enamored with this series and cannot wait to go home tonight, the eve of Sister Location's release, and watch Markiplier get frustrated as all hell trying to navigate the game. This series is more than a game, it's a story that game theorists (Read: Matthew Patrick of The Game Theorists on YouTube) and fans alike have had the joy of piecing together like a puzzle to fit together. It's the game that has become a significant part of my life, to the point where I now own a stuffed Freddy Fazzbear, a FNAF blanket, poster, hair bows, and necklace all gifted to me by my amazing friends who indulge me in my love for this game.

So, thank you, Scott, for this game series and for giving me the chance to love other games. When the day comes and you no longer make FNAF, I'll be sad but I'll have all the games to look back on and smile at. So here's to Sister Location and to all the games, I hope you know what an impact this series has made on the gaming community and on my life. Thank you.

Love,

Victoria

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
