Being your aunt has been the biggest blessing in my life. While you both may not know each other and live on opposite sides of the country, the love I have for you two is out of this world.
My beautiful niece, you never fail to make me smile on a daily basis. I can talk to you about literally anything and you comprehend it and talk to me as if we’re the same age. The older you get the more I wish you would stop getting so old. However, I know that our bond is something that can never be broken.
You are the smartest little girl that I have ever met. You are just so wise beyond your years that I feel like I’m talking to a young adult instead of an eight year old. You are so kind, humble, caring, and strong. You have been through so many things that a girl your age should never have to endure, but the way you continue to carry yourself through it inspires me. I am constantly learning from you, just as much as you are learning from me.
There are not enough words in the world to describe the love that I feel for you. I feel like I am your mother sometimes because I can be so damn over protective over you and worry about you as if you were my own. I know your family situation isn’t ideal, but you know that grandma, pappy, and I will always do our best to keep you safe, happy, and loved.
My adorably handsome nephew, when you were adopted and moved to California, it was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to endure. Though I was told not to get attached to you, I did and I did not regret a minute of it.
Spending almost four years without you and seeing you grow up through pictures and FaceTime has been so so hard. However, thanks to the amazing opportunity I received with this film school in LA, I’ve been to able do so myself.
You may not know that I’m your aunt, and that’s okay, but being able to spend time with you is all I care about. Getting to know you has been my favorite part of being in LA and I wish I didn’t have to leave you here pretty soon. But don’t worry baby boy, I will always be here for you and I will see you again. I love you so much and I am so happy that you are being so well taken care of. You are truly an amazing, fun, and happy little boy and you will have the greatest life imaginable.
I cannot wait to see the man you eventually become and I only hope that I can be apart of your life and be the kind of aunt to you that I love being to your sister.
Although I think you've figured it out by now, I love both of you so much. Being your aunt has changed me in so many ways and I have enjoyed every single second of it. You two keep me going and make my life so much brighter. I will always be here for you and love you unconditionally.
