Dear Mom and Dad,

I love you and thank you. I wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for you. As a child of adoption, I am very thankful for my parents and for their everlasting love and support. You have made so many things possible for me. You have allowed me to be who I am, and have shown me proper morals and values in life.

I am grateful for the opportunities you gave me. From always traveling at a young age to letting me explore college twelve hours away. Traveling to Germany, Switzerland, Jamaica, Mexico and others have allowed me to see how other cultures are. With this, I have adapted traits that connect me with people from other countries. Thank you for pursuing my love of horses. I was not the typical soccer kid or the typical swimmer. I was the girl who fell in love with horses. The girl who got a pony for Christmas.

All the horses and ponies I have had are all thanks to you. You made it possible to achieve my goals, to give me the horse of a lifetime that helped me achieve my goals as a junior rider. Mom and Dad you have shown me how to be a faithful Christian, to find someone who loves me for me, and to serve others.

If I could describe myself in a few words I would say, kindhearted, considerate, loyal.

These are adjectives that I adapted because of you. You both have shown me to be the bigger person, to put myself in other's shoes to understand where they are coming from, and that there is true love. I aspire to be like you as I continue to grow up.

You are never too old for dads hugs and moms advice. I think I look to them on a daily basis here at college just about every day. If it wasn't for you, I would not be the young woman I am today. I most likely would not be attending this college, or be on the riding team here. I would not be involved with the Christian ministry here on campus, or be a part of Loving America Street.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for loving me unconditionally, and for showing me and teaching me how to be a wonderful young woman. I could not have done it with you guys. I love you.

Love,

Your daughter

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
