Dear My Best Guy Friends,

You have my heart like no other would and let me tell you why.

Growing up with guy-best-friends as a female isn’t easy; we get easily judged and stereotyped, but without you, my life would be a mess, so it’s all worth it.

I don’t think there is a day where you don’t make fun of me, but it's always followed with a hug and an I love you. You aren’t hesitant to protect me or threaten anyone who dares to bother me. In fact, I have watched you “rip a kid a new one,” a few times.

You have showed me what it is like to have someone really care for me, who will love me when I am at my worst and love me when I am at my best. And because of this, you have taught me how I should be treated and how to stand up for myself, but you always reassured me that you were there if I needed it.

You have seen me cry and know just how to make me laugh, usually by making fun of me. But you aren’t quick to judge, you know my strengths better than I do and you aren’t afraid to push me.

You have complimented me at random moments throughout the day, you have held my hand, you have kissed me on the cheek, and you have shown me love in so many little ways.

You have scared many past boyfriends with how affectionate you are towards me, but if a problem were to occur, I would choose you any day.

It’s hard for some to understand a relationship like ours, but the way I love you is different. Because I love you with all of me, I love you through the times you made fun of me, through the times you laid next to me and watched movies, through the times you randomly showed up to my house or dorm just to see me, through the times where you laid in my bed playing video games when I was at class, through the gym dates, through the bad girlfriends, through the annoying group chats, through the drunken texts, and drunken dance parties, I have loved you through the good and bad, the past and present and I promise that if anything, the love will continue to grow stronger.

Thank you for loving me and letting me evolve into who I am today.

And thank you for not letting anyone get in the way of that.
