Dear Future Roommate,

Hi there. I know this is cliche and cheesy but I wrote it anyways. I can’t believe it’s almost time to start school! In a month, we will be moving into a new place with each other, and I cannot wait. The day I found you I was so nervous to ask you to be my roommate that I actually had my boyfriend talk to you as me (which is embarrassing but that just shows how scared I was).

I know we both had similar experiences and like the same type of things. I just want to thank you in advance for all you are going to do for me. I can wait to become close friends with you and create so many memories together. I know we haven’t known each other long, but I can’t wait to see what the future brings. We already have a bond, and I can’t wait to strengthen it. Thank you to your friends for also accepting me into your group. I was so scared the first time talking to you guys but you are some of the sweetest people, and I can’t wait get to know you better.

I will warn you upfront I can be moody and push people away but if I do that, just pull me closer and help me through whatever is wrong. When I struggle, I need reassurance that you still care, and I’m very needy. I am also very messy, and I promise I will try my hardest to stay clean and not make you mad. Sometimes my stuff will be everywhere so just tell me when I am gross. I also sometimes talk/scream/flop loudly in my sleep so don’t get mad if I yell on accident or bang into the wall. I want you to like me more than anything so I will do anything in my power to make you happy.

I am a very sappy person at times so I hope you enjoy watching sappy movies. Music is my life, and I know you love it just as much as I do so I can’t wait for all of our random dance parties and staying up super late and all the fun stuff we will do together. I also have an obsession with pictures and posters so I guarantee that our room will be covered. I will most likely always tell you goodbye and goodnight so sorry if that gets annoying. I just want you to know I care.

I like positive vibes and spreading them. I also will respect your space so even if we just sit there and don’t say anything, I don’t mind sometimes silent bonding. If you need anything, I will be there for you and I can’t wait to have that same support system.

This year I want to expand my horizons, so make me go do crazy things. I’m an introvert with the personality of an extrovert so I want to go on crazy adventures and do fun things with you. I love you already and I can’t wait for move in day and I hope you are just as excited as I am.
