Dear Future In-Laws,
I want to start this letter off by saying that this isn’t just for my future mother-in-law but for the whole family. Since the day that I joined your family as “the girlfriend” you have opened your hearts, arms, and homes to me. You have shown me what it truly means to be loved even when you barely know that person. Every time we talk, I always know that the conversation will end in us laughing or crying because we are laughing so hard. I may not have spent a lot of time with you all, but the time that I have spent with you, I will be forever grateful for. Growing up, I have always heard those dreadful stories about mother-in-law but I am glad to say that I am not worried about that.
From the day that your son and I started dating, you’ve treated me like one of your own. No matter how little or how much we talk, I can always count on you for putting a smile on my face. Words will never be enough to thank you for everything that you have done for your son and I. You have always made sure that we have been okay and at the end of the day, I know that you will always have our backs. Even though you may not have known me as well as you do now, I want to say thank you for everything, you make me smile and I know that I will always have your constant support in everything that I do in my life.
To the rest of the family, I want to say thank you for opening your hearts and family to me. At times, I can be a little weird and get over excited about a lot of things, but you all never fail to still listen to me and either get as excited as me or just tell me to calm the hell down. I can honestly say that I can’t wait until all the family gatherings, baseball games and just random hangouts in general. You all always say about how much you love me, but I can truly say I love you all.
Thank you for not judging me, loving me and caring about me even though I was just “the girlfriend.”
I love you all.
