An Open Letter To My Cronkite Friends

Dear Cronkite friends,

I miss all of you guys. The last time I saw all of your faces was last year in April or few days ago. Today, I want to send a message to all of you guys and express my feelings towards y'all. I hope you guys are doing very well in Downtown Phoenix (Well most of y'all) and can't wait to see you guys soon! So here I go:

The first time I met all of you guys was either at the Arcade party on the first day of moving in, floor 12, floor 14, at the pool, or going to a party in Tempe during our Freshman year. I remember we will get in trouble by the CA's, because we will be so loud in the lounge. Sometimes, I wanted to punch some of you guys, because you guys will get off my nerves, including Victor. Anyway, I love how you guys will make fun of my big butt when we're in the lounge or making a joke about eating booty like a Philly cheesesteak. That was funny. I'm so proud of what you guys are doing in Cronkite right now, I'm very proud of you guys. Here's a quote that I want to share with everyone and here it is:

"we're born alone, we live alone, we die alone. Only through our love and friendship can we create the illusion for the moment that we're not alone." - Orson Welles

I want to thank Keegan, Jackson, my future roommate Christian, Alec, Joel, Eliav, Chancellor or Chance, Epley, Sammee, Millman, Gaines, Daniel, Bailey, Delia, Luna, Mikey D., Zach P , Austin, Golan, Misha, Joe or Killian, Juan, Jozy, Brad, Richard, Nathan, Rachel, Isaiah, Casey (even though she is in France), Haley (Now a Cougar, booooo!!!), Yaz, Sav, Austin, Austen, Katie Pippen, Karam, Shane, Kling and Jacob for being there for me, especially Jackson, Christian, Sammee, Eliav, and Alec.

Let's start with Jackson:

Last year in February or March, you recommended "The Autobiography of Malcolm X" to me and I started reading it in October and finished it in March, because I was busy. I'm not going to lie, but the book changed my life and views. Thank you for your recommendation and if you didn't recommend it to me, I would've been the same person from last year. You're the real one!

P.S., I want to talk about the book when I see you soon.

Christian (my future roommate)

First, I want to say thank you for having my back, especially last year when I got kicked out of TP, because of money issue and I don't know where to go. You and Jack were trying your hardest to take me back to TP, but it didn't work well. However, I'm allowed to be in TP now! Again, thank you for having my back and I can't wait to live with you next year.

Sammee

Thank you for letting me stay at Evan's dorm room last year. If it wasn't for your help, I don't know where I would stay. I appreciate it!

Eliav

My (bleep)! Thank you for always having my back and giving me tips on life. Also, few weeks ago, I watched your YouTube video called "Failed To Succeed", and I got motivated by the words you said in your video. I was about to share it in here, but I couldn't find it on YouTube. I think you deleted it. Anyway, you're my man and I can't wait to see you soon!

Alec

I want to say thank you for always being there for me, especially last year. I don't know what I would do, if it wasn't for your help.

And for the rest of you guys, I'll see y'all soon and hope y'all have a great day!

Love, Henry Lyon

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
