To some of the best people in the world (aka my co counselors),
Thank you for everything from late night talking during staff week all the way to staff banquet you guys were there for me. When people ask me how I spend 7 weeks at camp during the summer, I say that is my home and the people I work with are like family to me.
We are a family. We may have arguments some of the time just like every family does but in the end we are always there for each other. We may be a family that spreads over many countries and many time zones but we are still a family. Even if I don’t talk to each one of you often, I will always be here for you.
Thank you for being the people I know will always have my back. From helping cheer me up on my worst days to helping me celebrate on my best, I know I count on my camp family to get me through anything.
You guys have a given me a ton of fun memories that will last a lifetime. You guys still laugh with me over the time I spent 2 hours searching for an LCD since I didn’t hear the all clear. I now know I am not supposed to go that long. Stations during staff week and having to dress Bagheera up as a sky diver. When 10 of us went to Fliker’s apartment for a night out. Shoutout to Fliker’s mom for making amazing food. Then going to get ice cream and taking a selfie of all ten of us with said ice cream. Listening to Hamilton in the car because what else would we listen to. When there is a super long line in the nurse’s office so we come up with the idea of I’ll sing a line you’ll sing it back pop songs instead of just camp songs to make the time go quicker.
Summer ropes training is amazing. Its great to catch up with people and act crazy. Its also was a hard work but we made it through. I commend all of you who made it through islands doing weird things. I can’t even make it normally.
Dance parties and bursting out in song are normal and completely accepted at camp. From singing and dancing along to the IPod while doing barn chores to campers choice dance parties to dancing while cleaning up from meals, we know how to have a fun time.
Sunday and Thursday nights singing around the campfire. Last minute putting together of skits which sometimes end up very interesting. Thursday nights sitting in an inner circle looking out at our campers and then lining the friendship path.
Ending the week with Friday Follies is always a fun times. Lip Sync battles especially the dancing with the broom one. The day we had extra time so us counselors went up in groups and did improv games where we acted like we were on different shows and TV channels.
So to my camp family, thank you for everything. You guys are the reason I am still coming to camp because you make me love camp as much as I do.
From,
Twizzler
