To My Dear Castmates,
Do you all remember auditions? Those two days of exercises, running lines, and just meeting each other. Some of us knew each other from previous shows, classes, or friendships. Everyone gave their audition their best and then "patiently" waited to find out who was cast as who and when the first read-through of the script would be. In the end, there were almost 20 of us cast, and many new friendships and memories to be made.
Throughout these past few months, we have all learned more about each other and each of us have grown in our own ways, whether it be breaking out of our quiet shells to be angry in a scene, learning how to do silly accents, purposefully dancing ridiculously onstage, keeping cool when something doesn't go right, etc. We have all been asked to push ourselves and to do more than our best, however, we have not done it alone. We worked together. When someone was struggling with their lines, we all helped in running over them. If someone had a question about a particular scene, someone was always happy to answer. Through it all, we have been there for each other, both on and off the stage. No matter what, we have all been there for each other and have pushed each other to do great things, and we have done great things. We have worked for months to put together this amazing show.
Yes, this show has been a lot of hard work. It has been late nights, frustration with ourselves and even each other, lots of caffeine, and never-ending rehearsals. However, it has also been a lot of crude jokes, bonding moments, smiles, belly laughs, funny and sentimental group chats, and so many happy memories. We have come so far from where we started with a few scripts and our knowledge, or lack thereof, of the show, to each person transforming themselves into their characters every night when the clock strikes 7:59 p.m.
My friends, our transformation and growth has been a beautiful experience and even more beautiful witness. I am so happy that I was able to be a part of this little theater family and I have been given the opportunity to meet all of you and create memories with each and every one of you. You have all taught me so much and have boosted my confidence as a performer and a person. Thank you. Thank you a million times over for everything. Thank you for giving me this opportunity, for making me feel welcomed into this family, and for making the show a wonderful experience and as wonderful as it is.
In the process of making this show fantastic, we have made so many memories and friendships that we can take with us throughout our lives, and for that I am forever grateful.
Love Always,
Your fellow cast-member
