We miss you already.

An Open Letter To My Brother Moving Away
Briana Arman

Dear brother,

I miss you already and you haven't even left yet! I am so happy and proud of you and I cannot wait to hear of all your adventures. I wanted to thank you for all the lessons I have learned from you. I never want to take for granted the fact of how close we were. Although I can still talk on the phone with you whenever I want and Skype you, I know it will not be the same. One thing I learned is that you should never take anything for granted because you never know when you will no longer have it everyday. You are such an amazing person and you truly inspire me everyday. Your ability to make others smile and bring people together is stunning. You are caring and can talk to anyone and make them happy.

I will miss your jokes at the dinner table and your funny impressions when we stand around in the kitchen. I know that you will be back soon and I am so grateful for that. I hope that at your going away party you realized how loved you are and how missed you will be. We are all a little selfish because we would love if you stayed, but we are so excited for you on your new life. You inspire so many to be more like you, some people can only wish to be loved as much as you. Be prepared for plenty of visits and know that we will always be ready for you to come home! Continue to be your amazing self and be prepared for a Skype date soon. I love you to the moon and back!

Love always,

Your adoring sister

P.S.

As I am writing this, Sean is making a joke about you being the token child. So know I love you all equally.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
