Dear Best Friend,
In just a matter of months, you graduate college and I could not be more proud of you and all you have accomplished. You have huge things waiting for you and this is just the beginning. However, the idea of you not being here for my last semester of college is gut wrenchingly hard. I know I am not allowed to actually bring this reality up, because that is our deal. But here is a few things I wanted to tell you.
Thank you for everything. I would not have made it this far in my college career had it not been for you. Never would I have imagined I would meet my best friend my first semester of college while taking the required P.E. course. Thank you for being constant and consistent. A shoulder to cry on more times then I could count, whether over a boy, soccer, school, or anything else you always listened. You never made me think my emotions were stupid, and actually helped more learn to deal with them better.
Thank you for pushing me. Since our relationship originated as teammates, it is easy to say you have always pushed me. Mentally, physically, spiritually, and emotionally. You pushed me to run another sprint when I didn't feel I could, you helped me study for Spanish three even though I swore I was going to fail, you helped me wrestle through hard questions about life, and the list goes on and on.
Thank you for understanding when not to push me. For telling me I was going to be okay when I had asthma/panic attacks, even though I didn't want you to do or say anything. For knowing when I was dying to be an introvert and really not wanting to be around anyone else. For when my stress was so high and you didn't just say "don't stress."
Thank you for reminding me to have fun and not take life so seriously. Whether it was getting lost going to the cabin, or any other crazy adventure I let you convince me to go on during our college years. They are some of my favorite memories.
Thank you for not being clingy. Neither of us are the clingy type, but that has never affected our friendship. Actually I think that made us become best friends. And why our friendship will last a lifetime.
You are a great person who I am proud of to call my best friend. The sky is literally your limit. Know I always have your back, I will always support you. Just because you are graduating doesn't mean our friendship is over. But just like everything in life it has to go through change.
Love,
Your Bestest Ginger Friend
