Dear Best Friend,
You are also known as my dog. My dog is my true best friend. I remember when we first got you, I believe I was in middle school at the time. You belonged to one of mom’s friends, and we often babysat you on the weekends. I loved you like you were my own, and then you became just that. You became mine.
The day I was officially told that you were being adopted into our family was hands down the happiest day of my life and a day that I will never forget. The bond we have always shared is something that I hold so close to my heart. You always know how to cheer me up, whether it’s giving me a bunch of kisses or just cuddling with me.
My favorite thing is that I can tell you absolutely anything without having to worry that you’ll tell someone else because after all, you are a dog. I love coming home from a long day of work or school to be greeted by your beautiful face and wagging tail. I think the most satisfying thing is seeing that tail wag and that face of yours light up when I walk into the room.
I know that you adore dad and all but I think our bond has always been different, a good different. Dad usually feeds you and lets you out to go to the bathroom and occasionally cuddles and plays with you but with you and I, all of that stuff doesn’t matter. We really get each other and I mean it when I say you are my best friend.
This may all sound ridiculous but now that you’re getting older I want you and everyone to know just how much I love you. I honestly don’t know what I am going to do without you one day. You are honestly at the root of my happiness and getting the honor to have you as a dog and a lifelong friend is the best gift I could ever ask for.
I know I’m not always around but I want you to know that I’m always thinking about you, I mean it’s kind of hard not to considering you are my phone and computer background and 90 percent of my Instagram and probably 95 percent of my camera roll. Oh, and I made you an Instagram. Anyways, what I am trying to say here is that I love you and you are not allowed to ever leave me because me without you just doesn’t make sense. Thanks for being my pal all these years, I love you forever and ever.
