Hey you,
I at first wanted to write you a letter about why and how you have become my best friend and fill it up with all the generic reasons and adorable stories & memories, but I’m not going to do that because you and I already know why you’re my best friend, duh. If you don't know then why have we remained BFF's for so long? Silly me, Its probably because we have no one else who could handle all of our craziness. I guess I'm pretty lucky to be stuck with someone as nuts as you. ;)
This is more of a thank you letter before anything else, it's a letter of recognition. You deserve to be recognized for all you do. I couldn't begin to thank for each and everything you do, but I can thank you for the bigger ones. Thank you for never judging me about anything that I've done or tried to do. Thank you for always complimenting my crazy hair and always making sure I felt beautiful in my own skin. Thank you for bringing me closer to my true self, and opening my eyes to the things I could be experiencing if I acted on my curiosities and had a little fun from time to time.
Thank you for crying with me and comforting my sorrows, thank you for eating junk food into the wee hours of the night and taking turns playing with each others hair until it was no longer able to be brushed through. Thank you for keeping in mind my best interest and making sure I knew what was wrong and right. Thank you for being the first person I wanted to share my biggest accomplishments with, the first person to know about all my secrets because you'd never tell them to anyone, and the first person I share my regrets and bad days with. Thank you never telling me you didn't care when I was telling you a story about people you didn't know and listening anyway. Thank you for not leaving me when you realized I have changed. Thank you for growing with me and realizing your true identity.
Thank you for expanding my views and making me want to better myself. Thank you for being my soul mate in all things personality and emotion. Thank you for being there even when we haven't spoke in weeks and just picking up where we left off. Thank you for making sure to check in and see how my finals or classes have been going. Thank you for being ever present in my life even though our paths are going different ways and taking us on new adventures separately. Thank you for being supportive and happy for me even when you're sad and confused about what you want. Thank you for being my sister from another mister.
There are so many more things I could say, but I just hope you know how much I appreciate all you do for me. There are so many things we have done and we still have so many more adventures to have. We have been friends for so long and I hope in ten years we are going to be even closer and talking about our husbands and kids, setting play dates for them and girls nights with each other.
