Dear Friend,
I truly do not believe you understand what you have done for me. Perhaps we have been friends since Pre-K or perhaps we have been friends for only a mere few days. Maybe I haven’t even met you yet.
But you mean the world to me and I would not be the person I am today or the person I will be without you. All motions and movements change based on who we allow into our lives.
We, as friends, have been through so much already, and there are so many adventures to come.
Who knows?
Maybe we’ll grow old together and we’ll be sitting in rocking chairs, reminiscing about the good times we had together. Like making fun of our peers we despised… or going to conventions… or just when we were enjoying life.
Could we write together? Write under different names than our original ones and simply enjoy ourselves as we change and twist our boring lives together through fictional novels. What I would not give for that.
Perhaps we will dance together in the future. And your hat will fall off and I will simply die of laughter during rehearsal. Or when you are able to talk me up and actually believe in me even when I feel I have hit my lowest point…
Perhaps we could even dance under one another in companies; enjoying the time we will share together, and dance as though we have never danced before.
Maybe I will critique your performance someday, giving you my honest opinion of you as a performer, an artist, and the history we previously shared. If you are the lead, don’t be surprised for a question and answer after the show—despite me already knowing all the answers I would need. Don’t be nervous.
Honestly, we may not even meet because we are so far away from each other whether that be in our career paths or we are physically unable to meet due to distance. Maybe we can only Skype or write each other. Despite the distance, friendship always remains, even if we really have never met.
There are many friends that can relate to this. We have our friends that have been around for years, ones that we may or may not see, and friends we believe to have come to us by soul chance encounter due to the same interests.
No matter what type of friend you are to me, you are special. You have helped me. You have changed me. You have molded me into the adult I have become. You have helped me grow into the adult. And you will help me continue to take on the world, one friendship at a time.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
A Friend
