My Child,
Hear me, please, when I say that violence and hatred are never the answer to solving problems. Entitlement and pride are the downfall of many great people. Reckless, brute force never solved anything. Allowing ourselves to become divided as a nation and a people is going to destroy us if something drastic is not done soon to remedy it.
Unity is a concept that is quickly being snuffed out in this angry, sick world. Compassion is unheard of, and kindness a lost art. We as people have allowed our hearts to be easily offended and entitled. We believe that life owes us something. We believe that somehow, we have no responsibility for our actions. There is no accountability, no goals, or expectations for ourselves.
Please, remember that every choice you make has a consequence, good or bad. Remember that life is what you make it and no one can build the life you want for you. Dear child, remember to be thankful. Remember to pray. Be respectful to people no matter what they look like, what their career is, or what their opinion is. Remember that no amount of hatred can replace a kind, loving word. Please consider the fact that maybe you will be wrong sometimes and that is completely fine. Everybody makes mistakes, and darling child, you are not exempt from that statistic.
My child, please do not be a person who is easily offended. It will get you nowhere fast in life. Use good communication skills to solve your problems. If someone says something to you that hurts you, tell them, or forgive them and move on. Never let that anger sit and fester inside of you. It is best to ask and apologize before hatred is born. Even though it may seem cliche, never go to bed angry. Never let yourself stay angry. Anger is a poison. Anger can kill your soul. Anger is prideful, and in a world where humility is everything, you cannot afford to be prideful.
Darling, kindness is the answer. Love is the remedy. Compassion is the key, and humility is everything. Listen with your heart and make yourself come to the realization that life is not a competition. We are all headed in the same direction. Instead of tying your neighbors shoelaces together so that they trip and fall behind, help them off the ground and walk hand in hand towards happiness. We will all get to where we need to be. Just remember to help others on the way.
Please remember my child. I love you.
Love,
Your Mother
