An Open Letter To My Best Friends

Dear My Best Friends,

Friendship is like a puzzle, and we are its pieces. Each piece is equally important but different. We are all different. We look differently, act differently and have different qualities, but somehow we work together. Together we are one crazy, inseparable and complete puzzle and it is beautiful.

As with the puzzle, the pieces are there for each other and hold the other pieces in place. This is what we do best. We hold each other up when someone is feeling down, and hold each other together when someone is falling apart. For example, you have been there for me through anything and everything. You have seen me at my worst and you have picked me up. You have been there to put me back together when I was broken. You have seen me at my best and were right there to be with me. I am so happy that I was able to share, and to continue to share, life’s most precious moments with you. We have spent days and nights on end with each other and I never wanted to leave your side. You bring out the real me and I know I can always be myself around you. Most of the time you understand me more than I understand myself. You mean the world to me and I couldn’t have asked for better best friends. We are best friends that make a family.

Thank you for being there for me for whenever I need it. Thank you for knowing everything about me and still loving me. Thank you for making me laugh even when I didn't want to smile. Thank you for taking on the world with me, through the good, the bad and the ugly.

Please never leave my side because you are one of the best things that happened to me. Please don't doubt our bond together. Always know that there never is a day that you are not special to me. You are closer to my heart than you could ever imagine. There is never a day when I don't consider you my best friend. You will always be a part of my family, even if we aren't related by blood. Lastly, there is never a day when you are not loved. In my heart, I love you with the purest of love.

Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
