Dear reader,
Throughout the years, I have constantly found myself in the middle of drama. No matter what I do, whether I say something or not, I always find people getting angry at me. At first, this used to stress me out. I mean, who wouldn’t be stressed out by being talked about by the people who are supposed to love you the most? As someone who grew up with a huge heart, I used to be extremely sensitive to it all. However, throughout the years, I have developed an attitude where I do not put up with any sort of drama. Unfortunately, I am often surrounded by people who beg me to let things go.
The truth is that I am not afraid of confrontation. There have been countless times where someone has called me a bitch for standing up for myself. I have never been the type of girl to bite her tongue and ignore those who cannot seem to keep their mouths shut. I have never seen the point of sitting back and letting people say terrible things without consequences. A lot of people I know just seem to let everything go, but I have never been the type of girl to sit back. If it makes me a bitch for not tolerating less than what I deserve, I'm a total bitch.
If you hear someone talking badly about your best friend, tell that person off. If that is really your best friend, you’ll be willing to stand up to anyone for them. If you see someone making fun of the kid that cannot stand up for himself, stand up for him. If someone says something that you do not like, tell them to knock it off. If we do not start speaking up on the behalf of others, what will that say about us?
The truth is that there is only one you in this entire universe. You are in charge of loving yourself. As terribly frightening as confrontation can be, you deserve the most respect in the world. If someone is treating you poorly, you have all the right to stand up for yourself and walk away. It is scary, but I promise you that the results are worth it.Sincerely,
Miss Confrontation
