Ah, Sunday, the best day of the week. It gives us a chance to relax, get work done, and sleep well into the afternoon hours. Whoever says they don’t love Sunday is either crazy or lying.
Sunday is the buffer between a crazy weekend and a new week. When you have been out all weekend, Sunday is your day to relax and catch up on your sleep. Who wouldn’t love a day where sleeping until noon is not only acceptable, but is also expected? Sunday is the day to make up for the sleep you lost while you were running around fratland until 3:30 a.m. over the past three days. Sunday is the day to literally just lie in bed and not get dressed. Sunday is the day to warm up those leftover pokeys and enjoy life before the next hectic week begins.
Sunday is the best day to get work done, too. Have a big project due next week that you put off until the last minute? Have no fear! You have a whole free day to work on it. Need to study and know you’ll have no time later? Just use Sunday to help you boost those grades. Sunday isn’t just good for schoolwork, though. It is good for chores, too. When you’re almost out of clean clothes, there is no better day but Sunday to do your laundry. The same is true for when you need to go grocery shopping or clean your apartment. Sunday is that one day where stuff can get done.
Sunday is also a great time to catch up with friends. So many times, I have grabbed dinner with friends who I don’t see much on a Sunday. My sorority family loves to hit up the Waffle Shop together on Sunday mornings after a crazy Saturday night.
Sunday is by far the best day to just go to a friend’s room or apartment and hang out for hours. If you’re in a relationship, Sunday is one of the best date days. Everyone’s hectic schedules take a break on this one day, giving us a chance to spend time with some of our favorite people.
Sunday is the perfect day of rest. It gives us a chance to sit around after a hectic week. Sunday’s free schedules allows us to get work done and visit with our friends who we might not get a chance to see very often with busy week time schedules. There is a reason why Sunday is a favorite day amongst college students, and that reason is because on Sunday, we finally have a whole day to ourselves and get a break from the craziness of life.
