America's New Bachelor: Nick Viall

You know him as the designated "runner up" of The Bachelor franchise. This time however, no one is gonna be throwing the term "runner up" around. Nick Viall is notorious for making waves on not one, but two seasons of The Bachelorette and on one season of Bachelor in Paradise. We thought we had seen it all until he was announced as ABC's newest bachelor.

Now, this choice was extremely controversial for fans as fan favorite Luke Pell from JoJo Fletcher's season was supposed to be the new bachelor but had the rug pulled from right under his feat. The spot was given to Viall quite suddenly, as many fans developed a liking for him on Bachelor in Paradise. Sources say that Pell had his bags packed, ready to fly to California to begin filming when he got the call that the gig was being given to someone else. As this was upsetting for some, (myself included) fans are excited and anxious to see if Nick can finally find love with someone.

Let's take a look back at his journey to becoming the newest bachelor...

We were introduced to Viall on Andi Dorfman's season of The Bachelorette. This season also began his feud with Josh Murray who was engaged to Dorfman by the end of the season. Josh and Nick butted heads constantly, they were the final two men left pining after the same woman after all. However, Josh came out victorious winning the heart of Andi and introducing Nick to the title of being a runner up, something he would come to be very familiar with. At the "After the Final Rose" Nick confronted Andi about their night in the fantasy suite in a way that shocked the world. He asked Andi, "if you didn't love me, why did you make love with me." And everyone was shocked. We feel your pain Andi we really do.

After that fiasco Nick Viall joined Kaitlyn Bristowe's season of The Bachelorette close to halfway through the season. This was because they had previously discussed a relationship before she decided to be The Bachelorette. When he showed up the guys in the house were not happy to see him. When Nick made the final two people wondered if this would be his time to find love. Unfortunately, he became a runner up yet again, having lost another woman. After Kaitlyn chose Shawn B. Nick did not handle himself well, throwing his engagement ring in the back of a limo. Yikes.

This does not conclude Nick's journey on The Bachelor franchise, however. Nick took part in Bachelor in Paradise and there met Jen Saviano and the two hit it off instantly. This is where Nick really redeemed himself to viewers. As the Josh/Nick feud continued, Nick began to admit to certain rumors circulating about him, therefore gaining the trust and attention of the fans. After seeing the response, ABC decided to go ahead and give Nick the best redemption story possible; another chance to find love but this time, he's in control.

What do you think of Nick as the new bachelor?

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
