It's Halloween: Time to be spoopy.

It's Halloween, and I’ve spent the last two weeks binge watching American Horror Story on Netflix; each season is centered around different groups of people, each with their own chilling stories and obstacles. However, the writers do connect each story through small details. Currently Roanoke, season six of the series, is airing on television, and only the first five seasons are on Netflix, so I’ll just be talking about those.

1. Murder House

After a Vivien has a miscarriage and Ben has an affair, the Haron family move from the east coast to a mansion on the west coast for a fresh start. Vivien and Ben try to patch up their marriage, and Violet, their daughter, meets a strange boy who catches her eye. Strange events start taking place, and they realize that their house is haunted.

I really liked this season because there were so many unexpected things that happened throughout out the story. You really couldn't guess. It definitely hits you in the feels with all the relationships and their obstacles. : 4/5

2.Asylum

It’s 1964 and we’re taken to Briarcliff Mental Institution, founded by Monsignor Timothy Howard, in Massachusetts. We follow the stories of Kit Walker: an accused serial killer named Bloody Face, Lana Winters: a lesbian journalist who was forced to stay after sneaking in for a scoop, and Grace Bertrand: alleged murderer. Patients are treated with cruelty and the devil has infiltrated their holy space.

This was a good season. Not as good as others, and it was kind of hard to follow at some parts with the aliens and such. And Lana Winters's son creeps me out, but it still was really entertaining to watch: 3/5

3.Coven

There’s an all-girls boarding school located in New Orleans created for the descendants of the witches who survived the Salem Witch Trials. There they learn about their history and how to control their powers. The rivalry between Voodoo practitioners and Salem witches is uncovered, and all hell breaks loose.

This was probably my favorite out of all of them. I don’t know if it’s because I really like the Salem Witch Trials or if I really liked the characters, although that does play a big part. The characters have a lot of personality. It also takes place in New Orleans, Louisiana, soooo: 5/5

4. Freak Show

Freak Show takes place in Jupiter, Florida and is centered around one of the last Freak Shows in America, and the struggles that come with being different.

This one is more about human nature, and how scary it can be. I really liked the characters, but that’s probably the only thing I liked out of this season. They killed all my favorite characters off. There were some interesting events in the story, and the musical numbers were amazing, but I felt like it was all killing with no real plot behind it: 1/5

5. Hotel

Hotel Cortez catches the eyes of homicide detective Bentley. Based on a real Hotel from 1893, it was built to torture, murder and dispose of evidence. It’s the home to the Countess played by Lady Gaga, The Ten Commandments Killer, and “The Addiction Demon” who roams the halls of the hotel.

This one is the most glamorous, and the most supernatural out of them all in my opinion. Also: Lady Gaga. My friends said that it was boring, but I don’t think they give it enough credit. It was the most dark, twisted and creative season. They've won me back after the mess up with Freak Show. And Evan Peters with that accent is probably my favorite thing right now: 4/5

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
