"American Horror Story" Season Ranking Chart

On Wednesday, October 8th, American Horror Story fans everywhere rejoiced over the much anticipated premier of the show’s fourth season, Freak Show.

The show’s main plot line revolves around one of the nation’s last remaining freak shows in 1952. Not only is this season predicted to be one of the scariest yet, it also promises to be the most visually stunning. The cast includes long standing favorites such as Jessica Lange, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson and even Kathy Bates. In just the first episodes, the series offers some unexpected surprises that will have you on the edge of your seat the entire time. The new season of American Horror Story has the potential to be the best one yet, and the scariest.

Because the seasons of American Horror Story don’t run together plot-wise, you might be inclined to watch some of the older seasons while you wait patiently for the next episode to air. In order to aid your pursuits of determining what season you want to binge watch, here is a recap of the past three seasons of AMS. Choose wisely. CAUTION, Spoilers.

Season 1: Murder House
Rating: ***

The first season to air, The Murder House introduced all of the characters we know and love. This season was amazing because the episodes flowed neatly into each other and there was a huge plot twist in the end. This season featured an oh-so-cute romance between Taissa Farmiga and Evan Peters and a more complicated one between Dylan McDermott and Connie Britton which added to the suspenseful tone of the season.

Its overall rating of three stars was probably because the setting was too drawn out, the entire season was filmed inside one house for the most part and parts of the series were a bit overdone.

Season 2: The Asylum
Rating:**

Not the greatest season of American Horror story, but still worth a watch. This had a super creepy setting which added to the appeal but got old very quickly. There were episodes that were totally random and had no relation to anything, such as the Anne Frank episode. Then the aliens… yes, aliens. The alien side story was only wrapped up towards the end of the season and even then, it still left many questions. While AHS did an awesome job of creating a specific type of setting, they could have improved on many aspects of this season. Alternatively, this happens to be one of the scarier seasons, so if you’re looking for a good scare, this may be the one for you.

Season 3:   Coven
Rating: ****

The last season to air before Freak Show, this was the best season thus far. AHS finally perfected the art of appeal by combining two separate interest categories into one, Voodoo and Witchcraft. Coven is stylishly fabulous in every way, from the sassy Jessica Lange to amazing costumes, even down to the setting in the French Quarter of New Orleans. This season also brought in a few well known celebrities, such as Emma Roberts and Kathy Bates. Although this season was not particularly scary, the premise of the season captivated like no other. There is no doubt you will wish you were a witch by the time this season is over.

There you have it. Binge watch away while you pain-stakingingly wait for the second episode of Freak Show which airs on Wednesday at 10 p.m. In the meantime, keep calm and, whatever you do, don’t think about clowns.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
