'American Horror Story Hotel': Yay or Nay?

The 5 Questions I had while Watching 'AHS' Season 5

'American Horror Story Hotel': Yay or Nay?

It's that time a year again where you can find pumpkins galore, all the candy corn you could want, and a beautiful new season of "American Horror Story." "American Horror Story" has become a staple of fall television among every age group. Why? Well, simply because it's awesome. Since its fifth season debut this past Wednesday Oct. 7, everyone has been buzzing about whether this season will be good or not. While the episode is not the best episode in "AHS" history, it is still entertaining. This episode, however, does leave the viewer with a lot of questions. Here are the top five questions I had while watching "American Horror Story: Hotel."

1. Where is Evan Peters?

This is the question that consumed me during and after the hour and a half premiere. Undoubtedly, Evan Peters has become a staple of "American Horror Story." Even if you don't think he's cute, you still (likely) think that he's an amazing actor. He's become the fangirls dream. It just didn't feel like AHS without him making an appearance in the episode. While he wasn't in the first episode, he is supposed to be making an appearance in episode 2, which just means that we will have to watch the next show to finally see him.

2. Why do all the guys look/dress the same?

Ok I know they're going for the grunge, vampirish type of look, but so far a lot of the male roles look the same. The look got to be a bit redundant when new characters were introduced. But oh well, at least the guys are cute.

3. What's with all the blood?

Season 5 is definitely going for a more bloody, gruesome type of horror. It got to the point, however, where it was just too much. I mean this season is already way more explicit than any of the other seasons so far. It just became predictable, gross, and tiresome after a while. The drug use is also heavy throughout the episode, and seems likely to continue throughout the season.

4. Why is Lady Gaga obsessed with children?

Yeah, children are great. But it seems like Lady Gaga's character is obsessed with taking other people's children and turning them into her own. She also keeps these stolen children hoarded in her hotel behind a secret door. The weird thing is, is that these children treat her like she really is their real mother. Hopefully this topic is addressed in detail later in the season. It's super weird, but Lady Gaga does it.

5. When did Lady Gaga become such an amazing actress?

I knew that Lady Gaga was either going to be amazing or simply suck in this season. So far she's amazing. Her acting is great, and her character seems to have an interesting story line. She's also able to keep a mysterious vibe around her character without trying too hard, which is refreshing. I can't wait to see how her character progresses throughout the season.

While "AHS Hotel" is worthwhile, I don't believe that it's going to be the best season ever. The characters seem interesting, and there are a lot of ways the plot could take. It appears that "American Horror Story: Hotel" will not disappoint.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
