Travel log about Delaware from a French point of view
So! How should I start this…
Well let’s say I won’t do my travel log as I am supposed to do it. Normally, you write each day, carefully, describing most of the events that happend to you during the day…
Honestly... i think this would be boring to you readers!
So you can basically consider that this will be a ‘DIY’ Travel log!
Anyway , let’s begin!
Let’s go back to the d-day : After some little issues...such as a cancelled train and a 3 hour delay, since our plane was stuck on the tarmac , I was finally able to fly to the US!
During our travels, as an animated-movie lover (and also a student), I couldn’t keep myself from watching Kung Fu Panda 3 ! Yes, I know some of you might consider it as a kid movie, but it was actually pretty funny and light hearted!
However, there was something interesting in this movie:
Po-The big panda doing king fu to beat bad guys- has got to find his Chi , which is kind off his kung fu soul super power, and in has to explore the Unknown in order to find it !
I thought again about it and kind off felt like this ‘Chi’ applied to me; the way that i would also find myself during this travel !
No I am not talking about being a panda eating noodles all day long and kung fu fighting bad guys …. I mean the part about my soul!
I really feel like I will discover a lot of things here, get to know myself better and above all get to know new people and places.
Anyway ! I should tell you about the amazing things I discovered!!
When I arrived at my home stay , I had the pleasure to discover a charming neighborhood : houses were done the American way : light grey metal planks for the walls and black roof tiles , plus wooden fences.
It basically looked like this
I also surprisingly discovered one odd thing once into their house : the floor was actually covered in fluffy carpet : the living room, the bedrooms, etc.
Actually in France, we do not have those "cloud-carpets" , instead we use concrete , or burlap , which is not as comfy as what you have!
To be honest , after a long day travelling , I couldn't expect better and I felt like I was walking on clouds.
The next day , we visited Delaware , and that's when my adventure began.
(Alright…. so now I must explain you that I will talk about recent events , randomly. That matters to me because that way is more authentic. Well … That's a good way I think!)
So , This basically my first feeling when I toured around Delaware
“But how did they manage to build all kinds of stores , still keeping the original architecture of Delaware , without making it ugly !?”
I was in fact surprised , because colors and materials matched perfectly , creating an harmonious landscape !!
There's also one particular road element that bugged me....
.....*DRUM ROLL*......
THE FIRE HYDRANTS !!
Their shape is way better than French ones (don't ask me why that's a personal judgment and I don't know why I feel this way).
They’re made of bunch of different colors : green , blue , yellow , red , white, etc.
That's actually creative and it gives life to this city!
Kind off makes you smile as you walk down the streets.
But at that point I didn’t know what I would keep discovering.
That’s why you’ll discover it with me in the other articles!
(Yes, I know ,most of you will hate me for doing this, but due to a "I'm-stupid-and-I-erased-what-I-wrote" problem , I wasn't able to redo it all in one day....Yes...Shame on me ....)
That is why I’ll post as frequently as possible, In order to share my experience with you as good as possible !!
Therefore, I apologize for those that wanted to see what would be coming next… You’ll have to wait a little, just a little, I promise !
