If you are looking to get into reading and want some interesting books to start with but don't know what to read first, or simply don't know what to read next, these books are and were my favorite series I read as a teen. Prepare to feel all of the feels with these series because once you start one you will never be able to put them down!

1. "The Summer I Turned Pretty" By Jenny Han.

The thing I related to the most while reading these books was Belly, the main character. Apart from continuously looks forward to summer, something that I did a lot as a kid, I was also able to see how she changed, grew, and what affects her though out her teen years. Belly went through hard times and learned to be abetter person, something that I really admired.

2. "Endless Summer: The Boys Next Door" by Jennifer Echols.

Yes, another summer romance novel, only this one is much different. There is scheming, romance, and the difficult transition of teen years. Lori, the main character lives next to two nice and beautiful guys. She has always been friends with them, and has always been seen as just another guy, but this summer, around her sixteenth birthday she wants to be seen as more than just a friend. When you first pick up the book (that looks huge by the way) you will soon find out that there are two books in one binding, and soon find out that you won't be able to put it down.

3. The "Harry Potter" series by J.K. Rowling.

This one kind of goes without saying. I read the books my eight grade year and instantly fell in love. I had seen all of the movies before, (I know, isn't that cheating?) but something about reading them for the first time was so magical, and gave me so much more than the movies did. These books are so timeless that I feel like you are never too old to pick up and read them. They offer something to everyone. Friendship, action, amazing words you will not be bored for a single second.

4. "Caster Chronicles" by Kami Garcia.

These books were amazing. Mixing the fun of magic and the exciting culture of the deep south, the Caster Chronicles series were books that I could not put down. The series touches upon not fitting in but finding a friend, finding yourself, action, and romance. Like Harry Potter, I feel that just about anyone could find something they like in these four books. Once you get past the daunting size you will never be able to put them down.

5. "Paper Stars" by Henna Faunway.

While this book is not published, it is on Wattpad, a free platform where story tellers can share their works on line and have people like read them. I am pretty sure there are three books or sections to this virtually published novel, (I counted it one afternoon) but let me just take the time to say that every second of it is amazing. With over a thousand pages to pour over, Henna Faunway makes you fall in love with almost every single character, and truly appreciate the life we have. Taking place during World War II and the Holocaust, Faunway tracks the teen years of Sarah who's world is turned upside down when a Jewish teen around her age, Benjamin, moves in and hides in their attic. I laughed, I cried, I was anxious, and I loved every second of this beautiful novel.

6. "Ms. Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children" by Ransom Riggs

Let me start this out by saying do not see the movie! While these books are not terribly long, (only around 400 pages or so) they are so spectacular. I finished the first book in two days, and the very next I was buying the second. I am usually such a slow reader, so after a certain point I get fidgety and have to get up, but that was not the case with these books. I probably read over half of each book in one sitting thats how much I loved them. There is adventure, history, magic (in a way), some romance, basically all of the things I love in books. You will laugh, cry, and feel everything in between when reading these books. And if you already saw the movie don't worry, the book is completely different!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
