Thanksgiving is that peaceful time in November, where one is rejoicing with their close family and relatives. It’s the time where we gather around and eat our family’s delicious foods, but most importantly it’s the time to be thankful for what we were given. Troubles may stay and wreck havoc on our lives but it is meaningful to count how many blessings that lay in our lives. Here are some of the things that I am thankful for.

I am thankful for my family. Thank you for always understanding and supporting me throughout my journey. Although we may fight a lot, you guys always hold no grudges and forgave me the next day. I’m so thankful to call you guys my family.

I am thankful for my teachers. Thank you for guiding me through my path in life and giving out pointers on where I should go next. Although I can be a little of a hassle, I appreciate the time and attention you give to our class.

I am thankful for my dog. Thank you for cheering me up when I’m upset and loving me no matter how I am.

I am thankful for my health. I have not been desperately year this past year and I am very thankful for that.

I am thankful for my opportunities. I always cherish the chances that I get and make the best out of them.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
