I Am Independent, I Am A Woman, And I Am Proud

Nothing comes between the relationship I have with myself.

I am independent. I am a woman. I am proud.

I am proud to say that I, and only I, am responsible for my happiness

I am proud to say that no one on this Earth can take my independence away from me

I am driven and motivated to be a better person than I was yesterday, for the soul purpose that I want to challenge myself

For me

I do not need a man to complete me

I do not need to become a mother to feel “like a woman”

I am the happiest when I am alone, discovering new things about myself each and every day to grow even bigger and stronger; both physically and mentally

At night I sleep peacefully knowing that nothing can come between me and the incredible relationship that I have with myself

As a woman who is independent and not afraid to let others know, I hope to encourage other women to love themselves first and to glow with their independence

To let them know that they do not need to be tricked into following the standards of society, and they do not need anything to make them complete

Because we are born as whole, complete individuals

I am not afraid to speak my opinion or to tell you how I feel, even if it hurts

I love myself first

Wholly and unconditionally, which means I am not afraid to love too hard or fall too fast because I am not afraid of breaking

How can someone break me if I am whole by myself?

I am in love with setting goals and striving to reach them and I am happy to encourage others along the way

I am not afraid to embrace my flaws and I a comfortable in my own skin and I fearlessly show the world my truest self

I believe in showing the same face to everyone and understand that each person is in on their own journey, to their own destination

Instead of walking down someone else's path, I have created my own

I will learn the lessons that come with cutting down the trees, getting lost and finding my way back again

I am not afraid to stand tall and face my fears, alone

Why give up so much for someone else

When you can have so much for yourself?

I am independent. I am a woman. I am proud.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
