I've spoken about this topic on several occasions, but until recently, I decided I would publicly discuss this through my writing.

I was talking to my little sister about this while she spent a majority of her time laughing at me. But is believing in timing...such a crazy thing?

If you really think about it, imagine everything that has happened just based on the day you were born. For me, I've made specific childhood friends based on similar birth dates and to this day it matters. I get a text from that friend every year on my birthday at midnight and the next day I do the same for her (except I might not make it to midnight sometimes!)

If I wasn't born at the time I was, my birthday may have never been announced at school if it was a little later, people would probably not view me as the younger one in the grade because my birthday was late, I would have certain things such as my license at different points in my life, which by the order of life, I would have been ready for different milestones at different times.

Just the day you were born, time and place make a huge difference to your identity. It really does.

If you were born a little later, maybe you wouldn't be surrounded by the people you are surrounded by today. Maybe you wouldn't consider yourself a summer person, maybe you would like a different color, maybe you would have a different perspective on everything, and that is it: Maybe. There is a chance that your life...that you could have been different. You wouldn't share the same experiences or memories.

I'm not saying that your horoscope is your bible and knows each person individually, but TIMING is everything. It's decisions and irreplaceable coincidences.

Do you believe me now?

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
