Times We (Almost) Caught Kanye Smiling

Is he angry or does he think he has something in his teeth?

Times We (Almost) Caught Kanye Smiling

Whenever Kanye West, a Grammy-award-winning rap artist, is brought up in a conversation, the conversation quickly turns into a debate. Is he one of the greatest rappers of all time? Why did he name his daughter as if she were a compass? Does he actually think that he is Jesus?

These are some of the questions that get asked when talking about Kanye that no one really has the answer to, but there is one question that I find particularly perplexing: Why does Kanye always look angry? He has millions of dollars, performs at exclusive venues across the globe, wears insanely expensive clothing, drives even more expensive cars, and is married to Kim Kardashian. I don't know about the rest of the world, but I think Kanye pretty much has it all.

The only reasonable explanation that I could come up with was that he truly is happy, but his distaste for the paparazzi combined with his massive ego holds him back from rocking a smile in public. However, no one with that much power (no pun intended) can not have fun. Every now and then, we almost catch Kanye smiling, right before he notices our presence and immediately wipes the smile from his face.

So close! I thought that was actually laughter for a second.

A camera man must have stepped on a twig by accident stage left, prompting Kanye to turn in his direction, only to be reminded that he was on live television. Needless to say, that guy lost his job

"Good try, but not today" - Kanye West

HOW DOES HE EVEN DO THAT? Human beings can't switch facial expressions that quickly. It looks like someone just told him a good joke at a funeral.

Seriously though, it's like someone told him his Lamborghini just got towed from the studio parking lot.

That double take was priceless. This should have a caption that reads, "When you are out trying to have fun but your ex is sitting 30 feet from you."

Kanye is probably wondering how he managed to slip up and (almost) smile so many times.

At least he has a sense of humor.

This is one of the only times that I have seen Kanye thoroughly enjoying himself. That must be the best ice cream on planet earth if it can make Kanye smile ever-so-slightly. I just want to know what flavor it is and where he got it.

All jokes aside, Kanye is a man who is passionate about his career and life goals. He will not take no for an answer, and he takes business very seriously. Without somewhat of a cold demeanor, he would not be the music icon that he is today. He has won numerous Grammy, MTV, BET, and Billboard awards in the last 15 years, making him arguably one of the most influential artists of the decade. His personality is often a mystery and his smile is even more elusive than candy in Whole Foods. You just don't see it every day. So without further ado, I present to you, the smile of Kanye West.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
