I enjoyed laying with you as you fell asleep because, if you fell asleep before me, I got a special insight into your life. I got to see you like most people hadn’t -- the you hidden from view. The slow rise and fall of your breath calmed me down; it made me think that everything will be alright and I needed that.
I needed to know that everything would end up okay. It helped to know that sometimes it's okay to let things out. I hoped to know that it’s okay to not be afraid to love, because someone out there will love you back. I have learned to not be scared, that not everything is as big and bad as it seems. However, you learn most from your mistakes and there are things that I have learned that have changed me for the better. You showed me that everything works out in the end.
I have learned to mind my tone and keep my calm. I now know that not everything is meant to be said or heard. I figured out that loving yourself is the most important thing you can do. I think it is meant to be for some things and that other times it just isn’t meant to work out. There are things entirely out of our control.
We are only a grain of sand in this desert of life and we should treasure our time now. Take the time to do what is most important to you first. There are things that can wait to be done and things that are better left unsaid until a later time. There are things you keep to yourself, and things meant to be shared. But it all comes down to how you view yourself and how you view the world.
The world is a beautiful place if you take the time to admire it as it should be admired. The world shows you little bits of beauty in small things. It tries to tell you that the little things make you beautiful: the snort you might have when you laugh, or the crow’s feet at the crook of your eyes. The people who love you and support you, and the ones who receive your love -- they are all meant to be here for you and to teach you a lesson; all you have to do is listen. Listen to what the world has to say, see what it has to offer you, keep whatever makes you happy, and don’t let anyone bring you down.
You haven’t let me down and I thank you for that -- all you have done I appreciate. I want you to know that you are beautiful and that you should believe nothing else. You deserve as much happiness as I have to offer you. You should know that you deserve to be loved as much as anyone does in this world.
You are the best you you can be. Don’t let anyone tell you different and don’t let anyone put you down. Keep saying cheesy pick-up lines, keep saying you’ll beat me in Mario Kart when we all know you’re wrong. I guess what I’m saying is do whatever makes you happy, even though we all know I will win the circuit, when you wake up.
