In case you haven’t heard, Taylor Swift has asked to begin again with streaming services. (See what I did there?)

As of midnight on June 9, all of her backlog of songs were available to stream on Spotify and Pandora. This comes a couple years after Taylor scrubbed her catalog from the services, saying the streaming services don’t pay the artist what they deserve per every song play. Now, if you’re like me, you’re hoping this signals new music coming soon instead of just a way to get back at Katy Perry, whose new album happened to drop at the same time Taylor’s music became available for stream.

After all, we’re long overdue for some more T. Swift jams. At any rate, though, in honor of Taylor Swift putting her music back up, I’ve decided to pull together a list of my thirteen favorite lyrics written by the superstar herself…which, let me say, was no easy task. Almost every set of lyrics resonates with me for one reason or another.

But, challenge accepted.

1. "Oh, your sweet disposition and my wide-eyed gaze; We're singing in the car, getting lost upstate. The Autumn leaves falling down like pieces into place; And I can picture it after all these days.”

2. "I never heard silence quite this loud."

3. “We're happy, free, confused, and lonely in the best way.”

4. “And she is yelling at a bridesmaid; Somewhere back inside a room; Wearing a gown shaped like a pastry.”

5. “I was a flight risk, with a fear of fallin’; Wondering why we bother with love, if it never lasts.”

6. “And you've got a smile that could light up this whole town.”

7. “This love is difficult, but it’s real; Don’t be afraid, we'll make it out of this mess.”

8. “Remembering him comes in flashbacks and echoes; Tell myself it’s time now, gotta let go.”

9. “But people like me are gone forever when you say goodbye.”

10. “I know you were on my side even when I was wrong.”

11. “These walls that they put up to hold us back fell down.”

12. “I'm pretty sure we almost broke up last night; I threw my phone across the room at you. I was expecting some dramatic turn-away; But you stayed. This morning I said we should talk about it; 'Cause I read you should never leave a fight unresolved. That’s when you came in wearing a football helmet and said ‘okay, let's talk.’”

13. “Heart-breakers gonna break, break, break, break, break; And the fakers gonna fake, fake, fake, fake, fake;Baby, I'm just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake, shake;I shake it off, I shake it off.”

The lyrics I have listed here are in no way the only great lyrics Taylor Swift has penned—these are simply my thirteen favorites, for various reasons, in no particular order. I would include more of my favorites, but since 13 is Taylor’s favorite number, I’ll leave it at this.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
