For anyone who knows me, they would know that I absolutely love the '90s hit TV show “Boy Meets World.” In my opinion, it is arguably one of the best TV show of all time. Cory and Shawn had the best friendship, Cory and Topanga had the relationship that every young couple strived for, and Eric provided some of the best comic relief around. However, the best character the show had to offer was undoubtedly Mr. George Feeny.
Mr. Feeny was always there for the gang to provide his wisdom and understanding throughout the course of the series. He supported and guided them throughout their adolescent lives, starting from the time they were in the sixth grade, following them to college. Although one might think it a bit odd to have the same teacher every year from sixth grade to college, in addition to him being your neighbor, Cory, Shawn, Topanga, and Eric loved every moment of it.
Mr. Feeny provided the support the kids needed to be successful and make it on their own in the real world. He allowed them to make their own decisions, regardless of how silly it may have been, because he knew the kids needed to learn how to make mistakes. In addition to the role Mr. Feeny played in the lives of the fictional characters in “BMW,” he also affected the lives of the viewers, including myself. Mr. Feeny taught a lot of lessons, some small and some big. For some, Feeny has been a big part of growing up and has provided the guidance or support needed. Here are some of the reasons that we all need our own Mr. Feeny in our lives:
Someone to encourage you to be yourself
Someone to encourage you to reach your full potential
Someone to remind you to appreciate the little things
