All We Need Is Love

...very, very badly.

All We Need Is Love
The Educator's Room

I'm so sick of people being anti-police and being ignorant that this is not an issue of race because, yeah, there are bad people out there, but there are also good ones and across many races, genders, religions, etc. at that. It's ignorant of people to be so oblivious to these things, especially when serious situations like this are occurring more and more, and closer and closer to home. Not every cop is bad, but not every person is innocent.

I'm so sick of people being bigoted racists and oblivious bandwagon hoppers. No life is more valued than another. We may all look different but we are all human and no life matters less than or more than another's and people tend to forget that. "#BlackLivesMatter," "#AllLivesMatter," etc., are stupid sayings and, we get it, all our lives matter, but to what extent? As said above, no life matters less than or more than another's. No one is equal to another. At what point do people have to get so radical about protesting an incident that innocent lives of our protectors are taken because people have so much hate in their hearts? Where do we draw the line?

I am so sick of the media skewing points of view and I'm sick of them not reporting the full story and the honest details of it. I'm sick of seeing videos of cops who may or may not have being using excessive force, but they use it to make the cops look bad, while the victim looks helpless and innocent, yet we have no back story as to why things are going down as they are so we are skewed to believe a very one-sided point of view. We have created such a world where we fear for our lives because someone said the word "gun," and especially when it's the police who are fearing for their lives while protecting ours. We are so afraid of guns, but yet, we all want a gun to protect us even though saying we have one for protection can get us killed by those who are fear-instilled.

I'm so sick of the hate, ignorance, and disrespect that people have today. I am not only scared for those of today, but for future generations and the world they will be growing up in. I'm beyond ashamed of our people, country, and world. We are fighting a war among ourselves, and that war is a war lacking in love. We live in a world where everything is wrong. Having an opinion is wrong. Being different is wrong. Being a human being is wrong. No matter what is done to fix it or what may be said about anything, everyone is easily offended. We can't even publicly practice what we would like without being wrong because it is wrong to be practicing our beliefs since it could offend someone or that others are more than welcome to practice their beliefs because it's a part of their beliefs that they MUST practice them, but shouldn't we all as believers? Isn't that a God-given, constitutional right granted to us?

I'm so sick of people not loving each other. Love thy brothers and thy sisters. Love thy neighbor. Where is the love? The love that conquers all? We really, really need love, and we really, really need to stand with each other, no matter what separates us; we are all human and we are all our own enemies and allies- it's up to us to form an alliance and work to clean up the damage that we, as enemies, have created for ourselves.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
