A letter to my parents,
Daddy, I would like to thank you. My whole life, you have been the person that I look up to. You, and mom, have always been the first people I go to when I have a problem or need help with something. You have been there through the good and the bad. Throughout my life, I have had the opportunity to vicariously live through you. You have given me opportunities through sports to do things that my friends and others think are the bomb. I’m not going to lie… I have done and seen some pretty cool stuff because of you. If it wasn’t for you, I honestly believe I wouldn’t know what I would be majoring in. You have shown me this whole other world of sports that I have fallen in love with and for that I want to thank you.
You were the one that told me to Google High Point University when I was looking at colleges to apply at. At first, I thought you were crazy. I had never even heard of High Point, NC. Why would I want to go to a university that I have never heard of?! But I did what you said. I Googled HPU. And when I toured, I fell in love. Thank you for telling me about the college of my dreams.
P.S. thank you for dealing with me every time we were at a football game and I asked you if you would take me on the field
Mom, where do I begin? When I was younger, you drove me everywhere. Dance classes, school, to friends houses, to the mall. When I got my permit, you first took me to the church parking lot and let me drive around if no one was around. When you finally let me drive on the roads, you held on for dear life (thanks for that one Mom!). You took me to get my driver’s license and let me barrow your car when I wanted to go somewhere (I know that was hard for you to let me drive the car).
You buy me clothes, shoes, make up and other various things that I think that I need, but don’t really need. You have always made sure that I have most of what I want (except a car), and have exactly what I need. You have put up with my attitude (sorry) for 19 years now. I realize that I wasn’t always the easiest kid to be around! The bottom like is you have given up a lot for me. More than I can imagine. I couldn’t have asked for a better Mom. Thank you, Mom.
Love Always,
Cass
